Program Information

The Department of Human Resource Education in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, through its partnership with The Global Campus, offers an online Master of Education degree with a concentration in E-Learning, which can prepare you to teach in online programs that require certification.
A growing proportion of higher education programming is being delivered via the Internet because of widespread access and the potential for high quality, interactive pedagogy. Universities, colleges, and community colleges are beginning to encourage their faculties and instructors to gain formal training in online pedagogies and technologies. Corporations are also increasingly relying on e-learning to educate, train, and motivate their employees, suppliers, and customers.
An online Master of Education degree with a concentration in E-Learning through the University of Illinois Global Campus can give you a broad and detailed understanding of the development, delivery, and management of e-learning. Students will gain the necessary knowledge to create high-quality e-learning courses, and the skills to deliver and assess e-learning programs for students in academic environments and the workforce.
Upon successful completion of all coursework, you will earn a Master of Education degree from the College of Education at the fully accredited University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The e-learning program delivers courses using online instruction that emphasizes group collaboration. Students may be required to attend one of the weekly online synchronous sessions during the eight-week course hosted by the instructor. This session may be used for orientation, oral presentations, software demonstrations, or instructor's office hours. The date and time of these required sessions will be posted for enrolled students at least two weeks before the start date of the course.
