Advanced Practice Palliative Care Certificate

University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Nursing

Program Information

The Advanced Practice Palliative Care Nursing Campus Certificate, sponsored by the UIC College of Nursing, was developed to educate individuals on how to better meet the needs of those who care for the seriously ill and dying who require end-of-life and palliative care. The program is grounded in the holistic perspective that recognizes that the individual is a part of a family, a community and a society.

Students will be especially versed in the science and practice of end-of-life and palliative care and in legal, ethical and socio-political issues related to our nation's top causes of morbidity and mortality (i.e., cancer, heart disease, stroke, congenital disorders, chronic childhood problems and neurologic and psychiatric conditions).
