The University of Illinois at Chicago online Emergency Management and Continuity Planning (EMCP) certificate program provides core competencies in:
* The analysis of public health and corporate risk and vulnerabilities due to natural or man made disasters
* The formulation of strategic and operational plans to respond to disasters
* Organizational and resource assessment of corporate and public sector response plans
The Emergency Management and Continuity Planning (EMCP) Certificate emphasizes training in the following areas:
* Communications Management
* Continuity Planning
* Crisis Management
* Emergency Operations Management
* Information Systems
* Organizational Crisis Response
* Risk Management
* Strategic Planning
The Emergency Management and Continuity Planning (EMCP) certificate program is directed toward the needs of both public and corporate personnel working in the area of disaster management and recovery. The EMCP online certificate program consists of five graduate level courses and is presented as a cooperative effort of the UIC School of Public Health and the UIC College of Business Administration. Faculty contributing to the program also include staff from Argonne National Laboratory and practicing professionals in corporate business continuity planning and public health. All courses are eligible to be applied toward a masters degree in public health.
