Program Information

The Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois offers a certificate in four different areas through the distance learning program.

Must complete the following courses -- CS 411 or 412; and CS 511
Must complete one of the following courses -- CS 423 or CS 425/491

Each certificate requires students to complete 3 courses of 4 hours each. In addition, students are required to maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher for the sequence and receive a letter grade of B- or higher in each course.

Application Requirements

Students who wish to apply, must meet the following requirements:

Graduated from an accredited institution with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree that would be equivalent to that granted by the University of Illinois.

The cumulative grade point average (GPA) for the last 60 semester-hours (junior & senior years) of undergraduate study must correspond to a B (3.0 on a scale of A=4) or higher. If student has advanced degrees, the cumulative GPA for each degree must also be at least a 3.0 or higher.

Application Process

Official transcripts from your bachelor's and any other degree listed under the "Degree Information" section must be sent to our office along with the application before it will be processed. Student will be notified of their acceptance by e-mail. Please note the application deadlines for the given semesters.

March 1st for Summer Semester Admission

June 30th for Fall Semester Admission

October 30th for Spring Semester Admission
