University of Illinois Global Campus Bachelor's Degree Completion Program for RNs

Global Campus nursing students will learn to improve the care of individuals and communities and to become leaders in the profession.


The College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, through its partnership with The Global Campus, now offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree primarily online. This degree provides you with an excellent foundation for a career in leadership in one of the fastest growing professions in the United States.

Upon successful completion of all coursework, you will earn a fully accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Curriculum

The curriculum of the BSN Completion Program will consist of the following 8-week courses for a total of 30 credit hours.

Delivery Method

The BSN Completion Program for RNs delivers courses using online instruction that emphasizes group collaboration, along with practicum experiences designed to be completed in the student's locale.

Admissions and Prerequisites

Admission to the BSN Completion Program for RNs requires a non-cumulative, non-nursing GPA of 2.5 as well as a natural science GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The nurse who has graduated from a State-approved Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and holds a current license as a Registered Professional Nurse will receive 33 semester hours of proficiency credit. The credit will be awarded upon successful completion of NUSC 210 and 242 in the RN to BSN program.

This program is a bachelor's degree completion program. Students must complete the following requirements in Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The Global Campus is partnering with Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, to offer the above prerequisites online for students interested in working toward the BSN Completion Program for RNs.

Illinois Residents and UI degree holders who are contributing members of the University of Illinois Alumni Association $18,495 for the entire degree ($616.50 per credit hour for 30 credit hours)*

A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $40.

Tuition and fees do not include books and course materials.
Non-Illinois Residents $20,550 for the entire degree ($685 per credit hour for 30 credit hours)*

U.S. students residing outside Illinois will pay a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $50.

International students will pay a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $75.

Tuition and fees do not include books and course materials.

*The University of Illinois will guarantee that tuition costs for a student will remain fixed for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Completion Program during the period normally required to complete the program.

Course Starts and Estimated Completion Times

We will explore additional start dates throughout the year based on demand.

Each course will be eight weeks in length. The typical course load is one or two courses per eight-week term. At the rate of one course per term, you can complete your degree in 16 months if you take courses in back-to-back terms.
