The UIS Master of Public Administration degree is designed to impart knowledge and skills essential to meet pressing public problems and to be successful in professional and administrative employment in public and nonprofit sectors.

These skills address:

Understanding of legal, political, and administrative processes, organizational structures, and the context of public sector and nonprofit organizations;

The development of leadership capabilities; and

Knowledge of state government and nonprofit management in Illinois.

The Online MPA is a 40-hour program.

The MPA Program at UIS is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA); the MPA program offers professional graduate education. The program works with many elements of state government and nonprofit management to integrate academic and experiential components in the educational process.
